Personae Dramatis
- Edgar Roni Figaro
-
Edgar is the firstborn of a set of twins, and the first half of the Figaro ruling monarchy. After the world was united with the defeat of Kefka, he was given the task of ruling the entire western side of the earth(the side he claimed was home to the best booze). He is a mechanical genius and also has major degrees in both Advanced Chemical Sciences and Advanced Biological Science(he won't talk about any of them, though, unless he is excited). His drinking habits seem to consume him most of the time, but he's a good ruler and his efficient methods prevent him from having to spend too much time in the office. This enables him to spend more time in the lab, or bar, of his choosing. Edgar is always thinking of the general populace and ways to make their lives better, inventing things to aid the rebuilding of the world and improving the quality of life. He's been a philanderer since the age of three minutes, and has not stopped in the least. He keeps Atma as a pet and epic mount.
- Sabin Rene Figaro
-
The second born of a set of twins, and the second half of the Figaro Ruling Monarchy. After a ten year hiatus from his home and then helping his brother and friends defeat Kefka, he finally accepted his half of the throne and took the title given him by birthright. He controls all land on the eastern side of the world as was left him by his brother, who had claimed the western side for his own years before Sabin had even returned. Sabin wants only to be a good ruler like his brother, and spends much more time in the office than he should as a result. He's adamant that the human race isn't populating the world as it should, and has so far taken many measures to increase the world's birthrate. He pays a monthly child care bill so large that it would make your eyes spin in their sockets.
- Terra Branford
-
An amnesiac Human/Esper hybrid who found herself smack in the middle of the last worldwide conflict. Due to the slavecrown, Terra is unable to remember anything of her life before its removal. Regardless, she keeps an optimistic attitude that she can function just fine without the past, even though she still wishes desperately that she would remember even if only for a flash of her parent's faces. Being half Esper, she is gifted with the power of magic and has the ability to transform into her own form, but only for a short time. She keeps Atma Weapon as a pet and epic mount, and has currently been tasked with bringing order to the world of Dissidia.
- Sephiroth
-
Spawn of scientists Hojo and Lucrecia, and infused with cells taken from the molevolent entity known as "Jenova." He originally came to the world of Final Fantasy VI as an aid in a previous conflict, but never saw fit to leave afterwards. As a precaution of coming to FFVI, he was forced to have implants placed in his brain to subdue evil impulses, effectively turning him into a protagonist. But after some time, the implants failed catastrophicaly and no longer had any effect on him. For years after this he was unstable and prone to suicide, but has since changed into someone who looks foreward to the future. He hopes to find love in the coming years, get married and have children. Currently he has been tasked with bringing discord to the world of Dissidia.
- Cloud Strife
-
Arrived in the world of FFVI as a partner of Sephiroth's to aid in the same conflict and never left. For inexplicable reasons, he has not been able to convert himself into a normal 16x24x sprite the way Sephiroth has, and so remains a 3D model(though his depiction is 2D). Nobody is sure, but whatever prevents him from looking like everyone else seems to also affect his intelligence, putting his brain on par with a jellyfish's. He once attempted a trip around the world, but wound up dying midtrip due to a lack of food and air. Kefka, for some strange reason, was the only one to attempt revival. But after several failed attempts to raise him, Kefka simply decided it would be easier to zombify him instead. Cloud now has a tendency to eat people and actually devoured Mog's mother as well his own friend, Barret. Like Terra, he has been tasked with bringing order to the world of Dissidia.
- Cyan Garamonde
-
Once a proud, honorable retainer to the throne of Doma, now a retired soldier trying to make his way in the world. Due to a sudden sickness, he was late for the final battle with Kefka and arrived only after the others had beaten him. He seems to care about his friends more than most of the other characters, going to great lengths to protect any one of them from anything; he even saved Shadow from dying as Kefka's tower collapsed. After the defeat of Kefka, he outfitted Doma Castle with a driving mechanism, turning his old home into a vehicle. He likes to race Edgar around the desert every Saturday.
- Locke COle
-
A thief who's insistant that he be called a "treasure hunter." One of the two heroes who were not present in any way to help defeat Kefka, most of his friends regard him as being completely useless. He's a good person at heart, and probably a better person than any of his friends, holding his principles of honor, love and loyalty above almost everything else. He is married to Celes Chere Cole. He keeps Omega Weapon as a pet and epic mount.
- Celes Chere Cole
-
An ex-magitek knight who defected from the Empire and the other who wasn't present for any part of Kefka's defeat. Celes, who is described as having a spirit pure as snow, is unstable in a few areas and has tried to kill herself twice. She is easily depressed in trying times and tires of life quickly if left to her own devices for too long. She is married to Locke Cole, which has done wonders for her outlook on life. She wants to have many children, but has yet to successfully conceive.
- Relm Arrowny
-
An energetic, fiesty, brilliant, cute, dirty minded and foulmouthed teenage girl who enjoys painting everything she loves. Unfortunately for everyone around her, everything she loves instantly comes to life the second she finishes painting it. Though no one ever mentions it, because she doesn't know about it, Relm suffered an accident in the past which robbed her of two years of her life, and removed all of her memories after Kefka's defeat. Three years younger than her body, things are starting to become complicated for her, but she remains optimistic. Her future goals are identical to Sephiroth's, and, with any luck, will involve Sephiroth. She loves dogs and enjoys taking Intercepter on walks through Thamasa.
- Strago Magus
-
An eccentric, elderly man who doesn't know when to quit. He was tasked by Relm's father to look after her, and does so with an enthusiasm that he wishes society would mimic. He can be overbearing and overprotective of his charge, but loves Relm as much as any true grandfather would. He has had a few lapses in judgement, though, and is determined to never let it happen again. He's famous for discovering a way to turn internet into a renewable source of animal feed.
- Setzer Gabbiani
-
World renowned airship enthusiast and famous gambler, he travels the world showing off his flying casino. Setzer doesn't appear much in the strip, but that's because he is the director, and as such he rarely ever has a chance to appear. He once went a whole year without appearing in a single strip.
- Shadow
-
A ninja who found himself helping the Returners defeat Kefka, attempted suicide as the tower collapsed, and was saved at the last second by Cyan. He's quiet and keeps mostly to himself. He does enjoy a good card game, though, and enjoys the feel of money in his palm even more. He never says anything about it, and he has never told her, but he has a daughter to whom he feels he can't become close.
- Gau
-
Left in the Veldt when he was three years old after showing off monster-like powers, Gau survived by living off the land and befriending the animals that roam its broad plains. He was picked up by the Returners on their way to Narshe and remained with them until the end of Kefka's reign. Not much has changed with him since. He has a nameless jewish NPC friend of some sort.
- Gogo
-
Nobody is quite sure what this freakish nightmare of a mystery is. A man? A woman? Sabin once tried to find out exactly what it is, but never got any farther than anybody else ever has.
- Umaro
-
A yeti. Not much more, not much less.
- Mog
-
A moogle gifted with the knowledge of human speech and mad dancing skills. Mog tends to keep mostly to himself since the events that ended Kefka's reign. He has a life grudge against Cloud, who ate his mother one Thanksgiving.
- Kefka Palazzo
-
Was once the Chief Mage of the Empire, and Emperor Gestahl's hand/jester, but soon betrayed the late Emperor for a shot at destroying all existence. He came pretty close, too, draining the statues that served as the source of magic and becoming the source himself. It's unknown how he survived his own defeat, but it does explain why magic still exists... Assuming he's still the source of it all. He lacks nearly all of the power he once had, so it's not likely. Still enjoys killing people.
